Bethan Waters
Partner
Bethan helps both borrowers and lenders with their financing requirements. Her practice varies from advising banks and companies with their asset and structured financing requirements, to helping charities, trusts and institutions raise finance secured on real estate or other assets. Bethan also assists private and investment banks, individuals and families with their lending and borrowing needs and has particular expertise in aviation and art finance.
Bethan typically acts for private or investment banks or for borrowers in transactions secured on moveable assets (such as aircrafts, yachts and classic cars), real estate and art as well as advising charities and non-Companies Act bodies in their financing arrangements. She also often supports other teams within the firm with the lending requirements of individuals and families.
Bethan greatly enjoys her varied practice and her notable recent experience includes helping several private banks with lending secured against portfolios of fine art; helping several wealthy international families raise finance against or simply purchase business jets; assisting a livery company and royal chartered body raise finance secured against its prime London real estate; assisting a private bank lend to a well-known landed estate in order to acquire another neighbouring property for development.
Secondments at a private and an investment bank have given Bethan a valuable insight into how our clients operate which helps her to manage transactions effectively and smoothly, often to tight timeframes. Bethan is highly motivated by client satisfaction and internal and external clients see her as a responsive, capable, calm and personable lawyer who will often go the extra mile to deliver what is required.
Bethan's work almost always has an international element and she is helping to develop Farrers network of international connections by membership of international associations and speaking at international conferences.
Bethan qualified as a solicitor in 2006.
